The CDC recommends increased cleaning of touchpoints and the application of disinfectants to other surfaces — counters, tabletops, doorknobs, light switches, bathroom fixtures, and other high-touch surfaces.

Infection control requires a dual approach — change in human behavior (social distancing, hand-washing, etc), and also steps to stop the spread of contamination on services. The best available information about COVID-19 indicates that it is spread both by direct exposure to to the cough or sneeze of infected persons, as well as secondary exposure to objects and surfaces with residual viral particles. Early reports from the CDC indicate the virus may remain viable on non-porous surfaces for up to nine days (as compared to 1-3 days for normal influenza viruses).
When disaster struck this Charlotte home, Morris and Moffitt was able to assist in rebuilding. We pride ourselves is taking care of our customers and providing them with quality work that they can return home to and enjoy.

Check out the amazing closet and beautiful details on this recent renovation in Charlotte’s historic Fourth Ward neighborhood. This grand victorian home received an extensive update of the exterior, as well as a new Master Suite — bedroom, master bath, and a large custom closet.
We were thrilled to help our friends at Hinds’ Feet Farm celebrate their newly built office at a ribbon cutting last month. This was a very rewarding project for a fantastic organization serving persons with brain injuries. Morris and Moffit served as General Contractor on the project in Huntersville, NC, which featured many unique, beautiful, hand-made elements.
Volunteers, members, and staff of Hinds’ Feet Farm contributed countless hours to forge balusters, create hand-made cabinet pulls from salvaged railroad spikes, and make custom light fixtures from reclaimed and sentimental family artifacts—the chandelier pictured below was created using a pot rack from the founder’s family home, and another from repurposed gate hinges.
Ninety percent of the lumber used in the project was salvaged or reclaimed—materials from Cone Mills plant in Greensboro, Tuscarora Yarns in China Grove, and a supporter’s old, deconstructed barn.
The office is decorated with family photos, antiques, and memorabilia. A special art installation features masks from the organization’s Unmasking Brain Injury project.

We recently completed a Master Bath renovation for a client in South Charlotte that we worked with a few years ago on a full kitchen remodel. In this project, we removed a garden tub to create a larger, seamless, walk-in shower, and added new cabinets and shiplap trim. The shower is a fully-automated, “smart shower” — the U by Moen digital controls allow voice activation of temperature, start/pause, and length, to customize the ideal shower experience.
Morris and Moffitt is a long-time supporter of Bright Blessings, a non-profit organization that serves homeless and impoverished children in the Charlotte region with birthday celebrations, “Blessing Baskets” for babies, and gifts of books and care kits.
Earlier this month, we participated in Bright Blessing’s 6th Annual Golf Classic fundraising tournament. It was a great day at Pine Lake Country Club and we were grateful for the opportunity to sponsor this terrific event!

Morris and Moffitt recently completed this renovation in Charlotte, NC with open flow from kitchen to living room for comfortable entertaining. The kitchen shines with a marble, multi-height island, and bright walls and cabinets to contrast with rich browns on floors and in adjacent rooms. The dining room and living room feature detailed chair molding, built-in bookcases, and stone fireplace.
Morris and Moffitt has enjoyed remodeling projects in Uptown Charlotte over the past few years. Uptown is an amazing place to live and we have been delighted to renovate residential spaces in an urban environment. Check out our photo gallery to see some of our work.
